Free. Not a trial — free.

Searching, applying, messaging your landlord, reporting a repair, keeping your documents, building credit from on-time rent and paying rent from a bank account all cost nothing. There is no broker on a Seayora listing, so there is no month of rent to hand one before you have moved in. The only things a renter can ever be charged are optional: a surcharge if you choose a card instead of a bank account, $20 for a screening report where a landlord asks for one, and $19 a month for a home whose rent is split between roommates.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free, or is there a catch later?

It is free. A renter never pays Seayora to search, apply, message, report a repair, keep documents or pay rent from a bank account. The only things a renter can ever be charged are the optional ones on this page: a card surcharge if you choose a card instead of a bank account, $20 for a screening report where a landlord asks for one, and $19 a month for a home whose rent is split between roommates.

Do I have to pay a broker fee?

No. Listings come straight from the owner or the management company, so there is no broker in between and no month of rent to hand one before you move in.

Why is there a surcharge on a card?

Because a card costs money to accept and we pass that cost through at par rather than taking a margin on it. It is 2.9% + $0.30, a debit card is taken with no surcharge at all, and paying from a bank account is always free. Where a surcharge is unlawful we do not offer cards at all — Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maine.

Does reporting my rent to the bureaus cost anything?

No. It is opt-in, it is free, it is yours to switch off, and we say plainly where a report stands rather than implying more than has happened.

Who pays for the screening report?

The applicant does — $20, once, for the report itself. It is only charged where the landlord asks for a report, and you see the price before you pay it.
