How much can a landlord charge for a security deposit in Georgia?
In Georgia, a security deposit is capped at 2 months of rent. Two months' rent, for leases entered into or renewed on or after 1 July 2024 (Safe at Home Act, HB 404). This is O.C.G.A. §§ 44-7-34, 44-7-30.1.
