Siri, Shortcuts, Control Center & App Shortcuts

Open Seayora screens, open one conversation, search and send a message with Siri, Spotlight, the Shortcuts app, the Action button and Control Center on iPhone — plus what Siri AI on iOS 27 can do with your conversations, what it is and is not told, and the shortcuts on the Android app icon.

Both Seayora phone apps can be reached without opening them first. On iPhone that is Siri, Spotlight, the Shortcuts app, the Action button and Control Center; on Android it is the shortcuts you get by long-pressing the Seayora icon. Every one of them opens the app on the right screen, behind your app lock. Sending a message by voice on iPhone is the only thing that happens without the app on screen, and it is the same as replying from a notification.

iPhone: Siri, Spotlight and the Shortcuts app

These work with no setup on iOS 17 and later — they appear in the Shortcuts app under Seayora and in Spotlight as soon as the app is installed. Say or type:

"Send a message on Seayora" — Siri asks which conversation and what to say.
"Open my Seayora messages" — your conversations with tenants, landlords, contractors and support.
"Open Dana in Seayora" — straight to one conversation, by the name it has in your inbox. A conversation you have chat-locked is never suggested by name.
"Search Seayora" — search your properties, leases, people, work orders and messages. In the Shortcuts app you can give it the words to search for, and it opens with them already typed.
"Scan a tag in Seayora" — the scanner for a QR label or an NFC tag on a unit or a piece of equipment.
"Report a repair in Seayora" — report a problem in your home, or see the repairs you manage or were sent.
"Open my Seayora time clock" — for field staff. It opens the clock; the punch is made on the screen, because clocking in records where you are at that moment.

Sending a message with Siri

Your iPhone must be unlocked. Siri asks which conversation and what to say, and reads back where it is going.
Siri says "Sent" only once Seayora has the message. With no signal it tells you the message will send when you are back online — it waits in the same outbox the app uses, and goes on its own.
If Seayora refuses the message, Siri says it could not be sent and asks you to open the conversation to see why. It never reports a message as sent when nobody received it.
It goes through exactly the same service as the Send button in the app, so everything that applies there — who you may message, blocking, the conversation's rules — applies here too.

Siri AI on iOS 27

With the Seayora update built for iOS 27, Siri AI understands Seayora conversations the way it understands Messages: who is in them, which one is on your screen, and what you can do with them. You can talk to it naturally — you do not need a fixed phrase.

"Text Dana on Seayora that the plumber is coming at three." Siri sends it in your conversation with Dana. If you have no one-to-one conversation with Dana yet, Seayora starts one — but only if you could start it yourself from New message. Siri never creates a group.
"…and send it at 8 tomorrow morning." Siri schedules it, exactly like Schedule in the app.
"Draft a message to the super on Seayora." Seayora opens the conversation with your words in the message box. Nothing is sent until you tap Send.
"Edit my last message to say four o'clock." Seayora opens the conversation with the edit ready in the message box; tap Send to save it. The usual edit window still applies.
"Unsend that." Seayora opens the conversation and asks you to confirm before it removes the message for everyone.
"Mark this as unread." Seayora keeps read and unread per conversation, so Siri marks the whole conversation, and says so.
While you are looking at Seayora: "open the second one", "reply to this", "who is in this conversation", "summarize this message".
"Show me the Bushwick lease in Seayora." Siri opens Seayora's own search with those words.
Photos, voice notes and locations are not sent by voice yet. Siri tells you to open the conversation to add them, rather than sending the message without them.

What Siri is told, and what it is not

Who you message is shared with Siri: the names in your inbox, and which conversation you are in. What anybody said is not — Siri only sees the words of a message while Seayora is open on your screen, and never for a conversation you have chat-locked. So "summarize this message" works while you are looking at it, and asking what someone said from the Lock Screen does not. (If you allowed Siri to read Seayora messages aloud — the permission CarPlay uses — "read my messages" still does that.)
Siri gets a one-way code for each person, never their email address. It is given the address only where Seayora would show it to you anyway.
When you send a message from the Seayora screen, iOS 27 remembers who it went to — never what it said — so Siri learns to use Seayora when you message that person.
Seayora does not put your messages into Spotlight search. The only conversation names Spotlight can show are the "Open … in Seayora" shortcuts, and a chat-locked conversation is never one of them.
When you sign out, everything Siri learned about your Seayora conversations is removed, so the next person to use the phone is not offered yours.

Control Center, the Lock Screen and the Action button

On iOS 18 and later there are four Seayora controls: Scan a tag, Time clock, Report a repair and Seayora messages. Open Control Center, tap + (Add a Control), and search for Seayora; the same controls can go on the Lock Screen (Customize → the buttons at the bottom) or on the Action button (Settings → Action Button → Controls). Each one opens the app on that screen — and the app lock still asks for your PIN, pattern, Face ID or Touch ID first.

Message notifications on iPhone

When message previews are on, a Seayora message arrives as a message from the person who sent it — their name at the top, the way Messages shows it — and you can let particular people through a Focus. With previews off it stays a plain "New message" banner that says nothing about who wrote.

Android: shortcuts on the app icon

Long-press the Seayora icon to see shortcuts for Messages, Report a repair and Search — and, for accounts whose tools include them, Time clock and Scan a tag. Drag one onto your home screen to keep it there. The list follows your account, and it is removed when you sign out so the next person to use the phone is not offered yours.

What none of these will ever do

Pay anything, sign anything, approve anything or change somebody else's record. Those are never offered by voice, by a control or from an icon.
Skip your app lock. Everything except sending a message and marking a conversation read or unread opens the app, and the app lock is in front of whatever comes next.
Edit or unsend a message behind your back. Siri can get the edit or the unsend ready; the change happens only when you tap in the app.
Work signed out. Signed out, Seayora offers Siri no conversations at all, and the Android shortcuts are gone.

Frequently asked questions

Why did Siri open Seayora when I asked it to edit or unsend a message?

Changing what you already said is something only you should confirm, so Siri gets it ready in the conversation and you tap to finish. Sending a new message and marking a conversation read are the things Siri can finish on its own — the same two things a notification lets you do from the Lock Screen.
