Resident Surveys After a Repair

Ask residents how a repair went once it is finished, choose when and what to ask, and read the answers and your Net Promoter Score.

When a repair a resident reported is finished, Seayora can email them a short survey on your behalf. Their answers, and the Net Promoter Score worked out from them, are under Operations → Resident surveys on the website, the iPhone and Android.

Switching it on

Open Resident surveys and Survey settings, and switch on Ask residents after a repair. Only repairs finished after you switch it on are surveyed — nobody is asked about older ones.

  • When to ask: as soon as the work order is marked complete, or up to a week later.
  • The recommend question: blank uses “How likely are you to recommend {name} to a friend looking for a home?”, with your name filled in.
  • Up to five extra questions, each a 1–5 rating, a yes or no, or a written answer, and each optional or required.

Who is asked

The resident who reported the repair, once per repair, by email. A repair you or your team opened yourselves is not surveyed, and neither is one raised by an account that is not a renter. The link is personal and works for 30 days; answering again from it replaces the earlier answer.

Reading the results

Residents score 0 to 10. 9 and 10 are promoters, 7 and 8 passives, 0 to 6 detractors; the Net Promoter Score is the share of promoters minus the share of detractors, from −100 to +100. With no answers yet the score reads “—”, not zero. You also see the response rate, how each score was spread, the average for each of your questions, a breakdown by property when there is more than one, and every answer with the resident’s first name, the repair and anything they wrote.

Questions you change later apply to surveys sent from then on; an answer is always shown against the questions it was actually asked.

Frequently asked questions

Can I survey a resident about an old repair?

No. Only repairs finished after surveys are switched on are surveyed, so turning it on never sends a backlog of emails.

Do residents see the score?

No. Answers go to you, and nothing is published.
