The Seayora Assistant: Asking About Your Account in Plain Words
How to ask Seayora about your account in plain words on the website and in the iPhone and Android apps, what the assistant can look up, how anything it prepares waits for your approval, what it will not do, and how long a conversation is kept.
The Seayora assistant answers questions about your own account in plain words — "who is behind on rent this month?", "what is on my schedule today?", "has my landlord looked at the leak I reported?" — and can prepare changes for you, such as a message, a task or a work order. It looks things up in the same records you see on your screens, and anything it prepares waits for you to approve it.
Opening it
- On the website, the sparkle button in the top bar of your portal, next to Search.
- From Search (⌘K or Ctrl+K): type your question and choose the last row, "Ask Seayora".
- In the iPhone and Android apps, Tools → Ask Seayora.
- If you do not see it, it has not been switched on for your account yet. It is switched on account by account, and you are emailed when it is.
What it does
- It answers from your own records — properties, leases, rent, maintenance, messages, your calendar, invoices and the rest — using the same tools a connected assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT uses through Seayora’s connector.
- Under each answer it lists what it looked at, so you can see where a figure came from. If it could not check something, it says so rather than guessing.
- It can give you a button that opens the screen an answer is best seen on — the full rent roll, a lease, the calendar.
Anything it prepares waits for you
- When it prepares a change — a message to a tenant, a task, a work order, a calendar event — it is saved as a proposal, and a card appears under the answer with Approve and Discard. Nothing happens until you approve it.
- The same proposal is in your Approvals queue, so you can approve or discard it later, on any device.
- A decision on a rental application and a notice to every resident of a building are always reviewed on the Approvals screen, because each carries a warning that has to be read before it goes out.
- A listing it drafts is saved as a private draft that only you can publish.
What it will not do
- It cannot approve anything itself, and it never moves money — it does not pay, charge or refund.
- It can only do what your account can already do. If you work for a management company or a contractor, it follows the access your employer has given you, area by area.
- Its answers are written by an AI model and can be wrong. Check anything that matters against your records before you rely on it.
Your conversations
- Your past conversations are under the clock button (website and iPhone) or the history button (Android), where you can reopen or delete one.
- A conversation is kept for 12 months after you last used it and then deleted. You can delete all of them at once from Settings → Your data.
- Each question can take up to eight steps and stops after about a minute. Your account may have a daily limit on questions; if you reach it, the assistant says so and it resets at midnight.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no Ask Seayora button in my portal?
The assistant is switched on account by account and is off until it has been switched on for yours. When it is, the sparkle button appears next to Search and you are emailed. In the apps, Tools → Ask Seayora says in words whether it is available to you.
Did it just send that message?
No. Anything it prepares is a proposal until you press Approve on the card under the answer, or approve it from your Approvals queue. The card says whether it is waiting for you, applied or discarded.
Can it see other people’s accounts?
No. It is signed in as you and can only look up what your own account can see on its own screens. If you work for someone else’s business, it also follows the access they have given you.
Why did it say it could not check something?
Because the lookup it tried failed or is not available to your account. It says so rather than treating a failure as "there are none", so an empty answer from it always means nothing was found, never that it could not look.
