Your Setup Checklist
The short list at the top of your dashboard of what is left before your account does what you signed up for — what each step is, why a step can say "Couldn’t check", and how to hide it or bring it back.
When you create an account, the top of your dashboard shows a short checklist: what is left before the account works the way you meant it to. It is the same list on the website, the iPhone app and the Android app, and each step has a button that takes you to the place where it is done.
What is on it
- Everyone: your name, a phone number (and, if you like, confirming it with a one-time code) and your address.
- Renters: before you have a lease, saving a home you like. Once your landlord sends a lease, signing it and adding a way to pay rent.
- Landlords: adding your first property, connecting your payout account, publishing a listing and inviting your tenant.
- Property managers: naming your company, adding your first property, connecting your payout account and, if you work with others, inviting a teammate.
- Service pros: naming your business, adding your trade, connecting your payout account, adding your licence and insurance if you hold them, and sending your first invoice.
How a step is ticked
Nothing is ticked by hand. Each step looks at the thing itself — the phone-number step is done when your account has a number, however you added it — so the list is never behind what you actually did.
- A step marked "Couldn’t check" means Seayora could not read the answer just then. It is not something to redo; it settles on its own.
- "Connect your payout account" is done only once the payment processor has approved the account. While your application is with them, the step says so.
- Steps marked Optional are shown but do not count towards the progress.
- The checklist never blocks anything. Anything that genuinely needs a detail asks for it at the moment it is needed.
Hiding it
- Hide takes the card off your dashboard. On the website it stays in your account menu, under Setup checklist; in the apps it is in Settings, under Setup checklist. From there you can put it back.
- Once every step that counts is done, the card leaves the dashboard by itself. You can still read the finished list from the same place.
Who does not have one
Accounts set up for you by somebody else — a property owner’s portal, a teammate on a company’s account, Seayora staff — have no checklist. The company’s owner looks after its setup.
