How to Migrate from QuickBooks to Seayora Accounting
A step-by-step guide to connecting or importing your QuickBooks Online data into Seayora — what transfers, how to verify it, and how to avoid duplicates.
If you already keep your books in QuickBooks Online, Seayora can connect to your account and bring your data into one platform alongside your jobs, invoices, and payments. This guide walks through how the migration works and how to make sure everything lands correctly.
What transfers over
- Chart of accounts — your income, expense, asset, liability, and equity accounts.
- Customers and vendors, including contact details and balances.
- Items and services you invoice for.
- Open and historical invoices, estimates, and bills.
- Transactions and payments, subject to the detail your QuickBooks plan exposes.
How to connect QuickBooks
From Accounting Settings, choose the QuickBooks integration and sign in through Intuit’s secure authorization screen. You are granting Seayora permission to read and sync the data you approve — you can revoke that access at any time from your settings or directly in Intuit.
Verify before you rely on it
- Compare a trial balance in Seayora against QuickBooks for the same date.
- Spot-check a few customers, vendors, and open invoices for correct balances.
- Look for duplicates — if you both import and later reconnect, some records can appear twice.
- Keep an export/backup of your QuickBooks data until you have confirmed the migration.
Migration and sync are powerful but never perfect: field mappings, historical detail, and unsupported record types can differ between systems. Treat the first import as a draft to review, not a finished set of books. Seayora is not affiliated with or endorsed by Intuit, and QuickBooks remains governed by Intuit’s own terms.
After the migration
Once your data is verified, you can invoice, track bills, reconcile bank feeds, run reports, and use the AI financial analyst — all from the same place you manage jobs and get paid.
Frequently asked questions
Will migrating delete my QuickBooks data?
No. Connecting or importing reads your data into Seayora; it does not delete anything in QuickBooks. Keep a backup export until you have verified the results, and reconcile both systems before relying on Seayora’s books.
Is Seayora affiliated with QuickBooks or Intuit?
No. Seayora is an independent platform that can interoperate with QuickBooks Online through Intuit’s official connection. “QuickBooks” and “Intuit” are trademarks of Intuit Inc., and your QuickBooks use is governed by Intuit’s terms.
Can I disconnect later?
Yes. You can revoke Seayora’s access from your accounting settings or from within Intuit at any time. Data already imported stays in Seayora unless you delete it.
