Your Renter Profile: Fill It In Once, Share It When You Apply
Write your work, income, rental history and pets once, attach the documents owners usually ask for, and share it with the homes you apply to — only if you turn sharing on. Owners see notes about how each file was made; so do you.
Fill this in once. Every home you apply to on Seayora can then see it — only if you turn sharing on — so you do not type the same things again for each one. Renters find it in Your applications → Your renter profile on the website, and under Renter profile in the Explore tab and the Tools hub on the iPhone and Android apps.
What it asks
| Section | What goes in it |
|---|---|
| About you | A few words for owners · When you would like to move in · How many people would live there, including you |
| Work and income | Employer · Your role · Started (YYYY-MM) · Monthly income before tax · I work here now |
| Other income | Where it comes from · Monthly amount |
| Where you have lived | Address · From (YYYY-MM) · To (YYYY-MM, blank if you live there now) · Monthly rent · Landlord or manager · Their email · Their phone · Why you moved or are moving |
| Pets | Kind · Breed, size or anything useful · How many |
It does not ask your age or date of birth, your Social Security number, where you are from, your citizenship or immigration status, your health or any disability, your religion, your marital status or how many children you have — only how many people would live in the home, which is what an occupancy limit reads. An owner may not take those into account, so the form does not invite them.
An assistance animal is not a pet, and you do not have to list one under Pets.
Sharing
Sharing is off. Owners you apply to cannot see your profile or your documents.
To turn sharing on you read this statement and confirm it. The statement, its version, the time, the network address and the device are recorded with your choice:
“Share my renter profile and the documents I attach with the owners and managers of every home I have an open application with on Seayora — from the moment an owner pre-approves me or I apply — until I turn this off. They see what I wrote, my files, and Seayora’s notes about how each file was made. I can see who opened it.”
Turning sharing off takes effect at once — owners can no longer open your profile or your files. Closing an application (declined or withdrawn) also stops that owner seeing it.
Documents
Attach the files owners usually ask for. Download them straight from your bank, payroll or tax site where you can — Seayora notes how each file was made, and owners see those notes too.
PDF, JPEG or PNG, up to 10 MB each, up to 12 files.
| Kind of document |
|---|
| Pay stub |
| Bank statement |
| Offer or employment letter |
| Tax form (W-2, 1099 or return) |
| Benefits or award letter |
| Other document |
A file is checked by its first bytes, not its name, so a file renamed to .pdf is refused. Each file can be at most 10 MB, and the same file cannot be attached twice. Files are kept in Seayora's database and opened only by you and by owners you are sharing with — they never have a public web address.
The notes about each file
Beside every file, Seayora notes what the file’s own records say about how it was made. It reads the program that saved it, the dates it carries and whether it was saved again — never the figures in it. No model and no guesswork: the same file always gets the same notes.
| Note | What it means |
|---|---|
| Saved with a PDF editor | The file was saved by a program that edits PDFs. Those programs are also used to merge or shrink files, so this alone means little. |
| Made in a word processor | Shown for pay stubs, bank statements, tax forms and benefit letters only — those normally come straight from a bank, payroll or tax system. |
| Made or edited in an image editor | The file or picture was saved by a design or image-editing program. |
| Changed after it was made | The file records a later save than the moment it was first produced. |
| Saved more than once | The file was saved again after it was first produced — which also happens when a PDF is filled in or annotated. |
| Dated in the future | The file says it was made on a day that has not happened yet. |
| Password-protected or encrypted | How the file was made could not be read, so it could not be checked. |
| Summary shown | When |
|---|---|
| Nothing in this file’s own records stood out. | Nothing in the file’s own records stood out. |
| Worth a closer look — see the notes below. | One or more of the notes above. |
| How this file was made could not be read, so it could not be checked. | The file is encrypted or its records could not be read. |
These notes come from the file’s own records — the program that made it, when, and whether it was saved again — not from what it says. They are not proof of anything: an honest document can carry them, and an altered one may carry none. Treat every applicant’s files the same way, and if a note matters to you, ask for the original or check it with whoever issued it.
You see exactly the notes an owner sees. If a note appears on an honest document, download the original straight from your bank, payroll or tax site and attach that instead.
What an owner sees
On an applicant’s card, owners and managers press Renter profile. If the applicant has shared, they see what was written — marked “Written by the applicant. Seayora has not checked any of it.” — the attached files, and the notes about each file. If not: “This applicant has not shared a renter profile.”
Nothing about a renter profile changes an application. The owner decides, as they would with any document, and should treat every applicant’s files the same way.
Who has opened it
Every time an owner or a member of their team opens your profile or one of your files, it is recorded, and you see who looked and when under “Who has opened your profile”. Seayora’s own staff do not read renter profiles.
Deleting it
Remove any file at any time. Closing your Seayora account deletes the profile, every file and the record of who opened it.
Asking your assistant
A renter profile is not on the connected-assistant surface. Your files are shared under a statement that names owners’ screens, and a tool that read them would put a pay stub somewhere the statement does not cover.
