Caller ID
See who is calling when a resident, owner, contractor or teammate you deal with on Seayora rings your ordinary phone number — on iPhone and Android, without Seayora ever learning who called you.
When somebody you deal with on Seayora calls your phone number — a resident, an applicant, an owner, a contractor, a teammate, or your landlord if you rent — your phone shows who it is instead of an unknown number. For example: “Dana · Unit 4B”.
Turning it on
| Phone | How |
|---|---|
| iPhone | In Seayora, open Settings → This iPhone → Caller ID and tap Open iPhone Settings. Then go to Apps → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification and turn on Seayora. You only do this once. The incoming-call screen then shows the name, followed by “(Seayora)”. |
| Android | In Seayora, open Settings → Caller ID and tap Turn on caller ID, then choose Seayora when Android asks. When a call comes in from somebody in your directory, a notification says who it is. Needs Android 10 or later. |
It never blocks or silences a call. Every call rings exactly as it does today; Seayora only adds a name.
On Android, only one app can screen calls at a time, so turning on Seayora’s caller ID replaces a spam-blocking app you chose before. The screen tells you before you decide.
Who is in it
- Landlords and property managers: the people in your Contacts — residents, applicants, owners, vendors — and your own team. A management employee gets the same people their Contacts list shows them.
- Contractors: the customers in your Contacts and your crew. A crew member gets the customers only if their employer lets them see Contacts.
- Residents: your landlord, and the management company running your building, from your current lease.
- Everyone: Seayora’s own support number.
Only people whose phone number you can already see in Seayora are included — caller ID never tells you a number you could not otherwise see. A contractor’s technician is not in a resident’s directory, because technicians’ personal numbers are not shown to residents. Each name is a first name and a short note, never a surname, because an incoming-call screen can be seen by whoever is near the phone.
People already saved in your phone’s own contacts keep the name you saved.
Privacy
Your phone downloads the directory and matches incoming calls against its own copy. Seayora is never told who called you, when, or that anybody called at all. The directory is deleted from your phone when you sign out, and it is never included in a phone backup on Android.
When it updates
The directory refreshes when you open Seayora and it is more than six hours old, and whenever you tap Refresh now on the Caller ID screen. If part of it cannot be read at that moment, your phone keeps its last copy rather than losing names.
Caller ID is a phone feature, so there is nothing to switch on at seayora.com.
Frequently asked questions
Does Seayora see my calls?
No. Your phone matches the number itself. Nothing about an incoming call is sent to Seayora.
Why is a number not identified?
Either that person has no phone number on Seayora, their number is not one you can see in Seayora, it is saved in your phone’s own contacts (which win), or the directory has not refreshed since they were added — tap Refresh now.
Does it work for text messages?
No. Neither iPhone nor Android lets an app label text messages from your phone number. Messages inside Seayora always show who sent them.
How many people can it hold?
Up to 5,000. A larger account keeps the people you deal with most, and the Caller ID screen says when that happens.
