Photo Studio: Enhancing Listing Photos and Virtual Staging
Brighten and sharpen listing photos without changing what is in them, or virtually stage an empty room — always labelled "Virtually staged", always beside the original.
The photo studio works on the photos already on your listings. Find it under Portfolio → Photo studio on the website, and under Photo studio in the Tools hub on the iPhone and Android apps. Every edit is added as a new photo right after the original; nothing is replaced, and you remove whichever you do not want in the listing editor.
Enhancing a photo
Enhancing adjusts the light, the color and the sharpness only — nothing is added to or taken out of the picture. The enhanced copy is added beside the original; remove whichever you do not want from the listing.
| Setting | Choices |
|---|---|
| Strength | Light · Standard · Strong |
| Exposure | Balance the light automatically · Leave the exposure as it is |
| Color | Natural · Vivid · Leave the color as it is |
| Sharpness | Off · Light · Standard |
The enhanced copy is saved at up to 2400 pixels on its long side. Enhancing is free.
Virtual staging
Virtual staging adds furniture, rugs, lamps and art to an empty room. The staged copy is added beside the original, which stays on the listing.
Every staged photo carries "Virtually staged" in the picture itself, in its description and as a badge, so nobody can mistake it for the furnished room — an undisclosed staged photo misrepresents the home.
- Rooms: Living room, Bedroom, Dining room, Kitchen, Home office, Studio (living and sleeping), Patio or balcony.
- Styles: Modern, Scandinavian, Mid-century, Traditional, Industrial, Coastal, Minimal.
- Stage an empty room. Staging a furnished room puts new furniture over real furniture and reads as a different home.
Compare before you keep it
Staging may not change walls, windows, doors, floors, fixtures or the view, and may not cover a defect. Compare the staged copy with the original before you publish it; if anything about the room itself changed, delete it.
After staging, the studio shows the original and the staged copy side by side. On a phone, open the photo and choose View this photo.
Why every staged photo says "Virtually staged"
A renter who sees a furnished room and arrives to an empty one has been shown a different home. The label is drawn into the picture itself, so it travels with the photo to any website that shows your listing, and it is repeated in the photo's description for screen readers. A photo that has been staged cannot be staged or enhanced again — work from the original.
Availability and limits
Each staged photo is a paid image-model call, which is why there is a daily limit. Seayora switches virtual staging on for the platform; until it does, the studio says so and enhancing still works. Each account can stage up to 20 photos a day unless Seayora sets a different limit.
Asking your assistant
Photo edits are made in Seayora, not through a connected assistant: each one changes a public advert, and staging is a paid image call a person should choose.
