Sending Feedback, Requesting a Feature and Taking a Survey
How to tell the Seayora team what to build, what is broken and what you love — and how to follow what happened to it. Where surveys appear, what the statuses mean, and what is kept.
Every account has a Feedback page. On the website it is in Settings, under Feedback, and in the menu behind your name as Send feedback; in the iPhone and Android apps it is in Settings, under Help. It is the same page in all three places, and what you send from one shows up on the others.
What you can send
- Request a feature — something Seayora should do that it does not do today. Say what you are trying to get done and what you do instead now; that is the part that decides what gets built.
- Report a problem — something broken, wrong or confusing. Say what you did, what you expected and what happened instead.
- Share feedback — what is working and what is not.
- Something you love — what we should keep doing.
You can say which part of Seayora it is about, how much a feature matters to you, and whether we may contact you about it. We only use that permission to ask about what you sent.
Feedback is read in batches by the product team. If something is wrong with a payment, a lease or your account, contact support instead from Help & support — support answers today.
Following what happened
Everything you send is listed under What you’ve sent, with where it stands:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Received | We have it. Somebody on the product team reads every one. |
| Being reviewed | The team is looking at it now. |
| Planned | It is on our plan. We update it here when it ships. |
| In progress | We are building it. |
| Done | It is done. |
| Not planned | We are not planning it right now. We keep it on file and look again as Seayora changes. |
| Merged | Somebody asked for the same thing, so the two were merged. Progress is tracked on the earlier request. |
When the team replies, or moves your request to Planned, In progress, Done, Not planned or Merged, you get an email and a message in your Seayora Alerts, and the reply is shown on the request itself.
Surveys
From time to time the team asks a short survey. Open ones appear on the Feedback page under Surveys. A survey can be meant for one kind of account — landlords, say — so you only see the ones that are for you. You can answer each one once; afterwards it shows what you said.
Your answers are linked to your account. The team reads them alongside your account type, not your name.
A survey can be meant for a particular group — for example landlords in New York, accounts in their first two weeks, people who use the phone app, or a random share of everybody. You only see the surveys meant for you, and Seayora never asks staff accounts.
Surveys by email
Some surveys are also sent by email, with a link that is personal to you. You do not need to sign in to answer, and the people we email do not need a Seayora account at all.
- When the first question is a number — “how likely are you to recommend Seayora, from 0 to 10”, or a rating from 1 to 5 — the email shows the numbers. Clicking one opens the survey with that answer already chosen.
- The questions after it can depend on the number you chose: a low score may ask what went wrong, a high one what we should keep doing.
- You can stop after the first answer; it still counts. You can finish in the email’s page or, if you have an account, in Seayora under Settings → Feedback — it is the same answer either way.
- Each survey is answered once. Once you have finished, the link shows your answers rather than asking again.
- There is at most one reminder, and only if you have not answered.
To stop survey emails, switch off “Surveys & review requests” in Settings → Notifications, or use Email preferences at the foot of any email from Seayora.
What is kept
What you send and how you answered a survey are kept with your account so the team can follow up and see what changed. Closing your account deletes both. If you answered an emailed survey without an account, your answers are kept with the address the link was sent to. The Privacy Policy covers this in full.
