Your Time Zone

Seayora sets your time zone from the device you sign in on, so reminders, quiet hours, your calendar and "today" follow where you are. Choose one yourself in Settings and it stays put.

Your account has one time zone, and several things run on it: reply reminders (which only go out between 8 am and 8 pm your time), chat quiet hours, the email about unread messages, your calendar, the contact book's follow-ups, and what the Seayora assistant means by "today".

How it is set

  • When you sign in, the device you sign in on tells Seayora its time zone, and your account uses it. The app and the website check again whenever you come back to them, so a trip moves it with you.
  • If you choose a time zone yourself, Seayora keeps your choice. Your devices stop changing it.
  • To go back to following your device, choose "Use this device's time zone".
  • Until any device has signed in, Eastern Time (New York) is used.

Where to change it

WhereHow
seayora.comSettings → Appearance → Time zone → Change time zone. Search by city, region or UTC offset.
iPhoneSettings → Time zone. Pull down to search.
AndroidSettings → Time zone.
CalendarThe calendar's time zone setting is the same one: changing it there changes it everywhere.

The screen shows where your current time zone came from: your device, your own choice, or Seayora support (who can set one when you ask).

The time zone is a region name such as America/Chicago. It is not your location, and Seayora does not read your location to set it.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my time zone change after I signed in on another computer?

Your account follows the device you sign in on until you choose a time zone yourself. Choose one in Settings and no device will change it.

Can my landlord or my team see my time zone?

No. It is used to time what Seayora sends you. Seayora support can see it on your account when helping you.

I chose a time zone and now I am traveling. What do I do?

Open Settings → Time zone and choose "Use this device's time zone", or pick the zone you are in.
